Credo
"As every blossom fades and all youth sinks into old age, so every life’s design, each flower of wisdom,
attains its prime, yet cannot last forever.
The heart must submit itself courageously to life’s call without a hint of grief, A magic dwells in each beginning,
protecting us, telling us how to live.
High purposed we shall traverse realm on realm, cleaving to none as if it were a home,
the world of spirit wishes not to fetter us but raise us higher, step by step.
Scarce in some safe accustomed sphere of life have we established our house, then we grow lax;
only he who is ready to journey forth is able to throw old habits off.
Maybe death’s hour too will send us out new-born towards undreamed-lands, maybe life’s call to us will never end –
Have courage my dear, take leave and fare thee well."
Hermann Hesse
Hermann Hesse's very deep poem „Stages“ impressed me beyond words, and became an important thread in my life. Isn't it true that we are able to decide, at any given moment in any given phase of our life, to change our course and enter in new fascinating areas of the self? We will always discover new facets of ourselves. The unknown can raise doubt and discomfort, however if we refuse to knock repeatedly on the door of life to experience more of the essence of ourselves, we will remain doubtful if the door to new life can be opened for us at all.
We should be reassured that periods of uncertainty in our life can be stepping stones to overcome our anxieties about the unknown. Once the decision is made to claim our divine being, we will be able to tap into an enormous reservoir of creative energy which can enable us to be of service to humanity, each one of us in the way we personally are called to serve. I therefore strongly believe that our ability to decide to go forward, regardless of the inhibitions of the ego, is of paramount importance.
Where we go
In the course of our life we all have experienced how it is to be centered within oneself, to value oneself and to be satisfied. Very often these moments are subtle and seem vague and unreal. At the same time we do know that our needs and longing have at its depth one single desire: to be in unity again with the love we are and with our own essence. It is then when we are going beyond our doubts, fears and restrictions and know that we have always been the ones we are.
The more we follow this lightening of our soul remembrance we are being led to the centre of this essence which has not really left us from the beginning and we can suspect that we are bound to stay on the journey to our own divinity.
The final station I called “Canaan”, the so-called Promised Land not in the physical sense of the word but seen as the highest state of consciousness attainable in this realm of existence.
