Since childhood I have always been interested in different cultures, behaviors and beliefs. In the course of my life I’ve spent several years in different countries. The essence of each culture fascinated me more than anything else, and a deep longing to know the real essence of mankind arose within me.
When I was 18 years old, I had my first contact with a well-known spiritual teacher, Krishnamurti, while attending a lecture in Amsterdam. His words inspired me immensely, even though I couldn’t really comprehend the deeper meaning of what he presented. Nevertheless, that experience made a deep impression which I could feel in my body and my heart. I found myself immersed in his presence, which was a very tangible sensation. This wonderful and inexplicable experience, which made a lasting imprint on my life, influenced my spiritual development from then on.
I have studied the yoga and meditation practices of the Vedic tradition since 1976. After a longstanding and successful career as a trainer and supervisor in an international airline company, I completed my yoga and meditation teacher training in late 1983.
Inspired by the energy work of Dr. Robert Jaffe, in 1992 I decided to do a two-year training course to become an energy therapist of the „School of Energy Mastery“ in Sedona, USA. I continued to pursue healing work in 1994 when I took training in „Plexus Bioenergy“ with two Irish healers, Tom Griffin and Michael O'Doherty. This broadened my understanding about blocked energies in our chakra system and the resulting influence on our entire system, including illnesses and other discomfort. At that point, I started to offer healing sessions and seminars.
A period of personal encounters with Indian, Shamanic, Buddhist, and Islamic masters and healers followed. In 2001 I met my spiritual Sufi teacher, Nura Loeks, a cross-religious awakened master. Since then I have participated in frequent yearly retreats in the USA, India, Germany, Cyprus, Italy, Switzerland and Israel. My spiritual development has been been enhanced in personal retreats with Nura in the USA and Canada.
Since 2007 I have been doing hospice work, dedicating myself to dying people; first I supported children with cancer and since 2016 I am accompanying adults through the end of life. I could learn that death is a natural part of life and can be honored as sacred. It was not so much about what to communicate to the people but rather how to be with my heart nearest to them.
At a certain point after having spent years of learning on the inner journey, I felt a growing urge to share my insights and experiences through an artistic medium that would suit me. I started experimenting with acrylics, exploring color mixing and painting in layers. This developed into one of my main techniques of presenting in a painterly way the many different realities we encounter in life.
